Introduction
On March 20, 2015, the Castilla-La Mancha Museum of Paleontology was created by decree, whose main function is linked to a dynamic vocation of paleontological heritage, both at the regional and national level. On March 23, 2015, the first phase of the museum was inaugurated, in which a small exhibition space with about 200 pieces and 20 life-size reproductions, with the title “Land of Dinosaurs”, was opened to the public.

Introduction: The building
The building that houses the MUPA is the work of the architects Carlos Asensio, José María de La Puerta and Paloma Campo, a project that began in 2000 and concluded in 2010, with the intention of being a museum space, welcoming in its inauguration of the ARS NATURA Nature Interpretation Center, a center that closed its doors two years later.

Continue the visit by navigating the Las Hoyas site. It is one of the richest, most diverse and best preserved in the world. The exhibition is divided into three rooms, corresponding to the three environments present in the Las Hoyas ecosystem: aquatic environment, transition to the terrestrial environment and terrestrial environment.

The visit continues by navigating the Lo Hueco site. The Lo Hueco deposit was formed about 75 million years ago in a wetland crossed by channels. In Lo Hueco we not only find representatives of the last sauropod dinosaurs that inhabited the earth, the titanosaurs, but also dromaeosaurid theropod dinosaurs, ornithopods, crocodiles, turtles, reptiles and fish.
