What is Suggestopedia?

Suggestopedia is the study of suggestive factors in a learning situation. A teaching method based on the idea how the human brain works and how we learn most effectively.

It includes:

• rich sensory learning
• a positive expectation of success
• use of a varied range of methods like dramatized texts, music, active participation in songs and games.

Affective Filter

The affective filter is a metaphor that describes a learner's attitudes that affect the relative success of second language acquisition.Negative feelings such as: lack of motivation}lack of self-confidencelearning anxiety act as filters that hinder and obstruct language learning.

Presentation: In this stage a discussion of previously learned material could be conducted first, involving micro-studies or macro-studies in the real practice to make an integrated teaching procedure. 2. First wave: involves the active presentation of the material to be learnt. 3.Second wave: students are now guided to relax and listen to baroque music. 4.Practice: During the practice stage, ample use is made of a range of role play, games, puzzles, and alike in order to review and consolidate the learning.
