A Game to Energize the first 10 minutes of the Class

This game can be played as a retrieval practice activity or as a way to energize your class.The aim of the game is to name 4 things of whatever category appears in the slide. Each slide contains a timer and students need to be able to come up with 4 before the time runs out.

Instructions

Students work in pairs. Display the first slide and ask students to think/write 4 of whatever category appears on the slide. Once they have it,they raise their hand to indicate they have 4. This is an important step as it will tell you which pair of students you should ask first.When time's up, ask the pair who first raised their hands to say aloud their words. If all of them are correct, give them 1 point; if incorrect, take off 1 point.
