- Situated on a bay on the east coast, at the mouth of the River Liffey, it lies within the province of Leinster.
- The name Dublin derives from the Irish word Dubhlinn, early Classical Irish Dubhlind/Duibhlind, from dubh ([d̪uβ], [d̪uw], [d̪uː]) meaning "black, dark", and lind ([lʲiɲ(d̪ʲ)]) "pool", referring to a dark tidal pool.

IRISH LITERATURE
oSCAR wILDE, jAMES jOYCE, sAMUEL bECKETT.......AND MANY MORE....
Many would say that Ireland’s finest export is Guinness, but they’re not entirely correct. If there is one aspect of Irish culture that has made a significant impact both around the world and on our its shores, it is without a doubt the many Irish writers who have achieved worldwide acclaim for their words.
Why do the Irish love potatoes?
Ireland has a bit of a reputation for loving potatoes. While potatoes come from South America and the French have precisely 467 different ways of cooking potatoes, the Irish are the world's no. 1 potato-munchin' nation.

SAINT PATRICK'S DAY
Sain Patrick was born in Roman Britain in the late 4th century, he was kidnapped at the age of 16 and taken to Ireland as a slave. He escaped but returned about 432 to convert the Irish to Christianity. By the time of his death on March 17, 461, he had established monasteries, churches, and schools. Many legends grew up around him—for example, that he drove the snakes out of Ireland and used the shamrock to explain the Trinity. Ireland came to celebrate his day with religious services and feasts. Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated on Wednesday, March 17, 2021.
