much: uncountable nouns (milk, marmalade, money, time etc.) How much sugar would you like?
many: countable nouns (bottles of milk, jars of marmalade, dollars, minutes etc. How many apples arenthere in the fridge?
A LOT
A lot of can be used in all sentences: affirmative, negative and interrogative, with both countable and uncountable nouns. We learned a lot of new English words. We didn't learn a lot of grammar. Did you learn a lot of English expressions?
Use a little for non-countable nouns (e.g., jam, time). I always enjoy a little cream and sugar in my coffee. Have a little salsa on your eggs. It’s delicious!
