Greek mythology, as in other ancient cultures, was used as a means to explain the environment in which humankind lived, the natural phenomena they witnessed and the passing of time through the days, months, and seasons. Myths were also intricately connected to religion in the Greek world and explained the origin and lives of the gods, where humanity had come from and where it was going after death, and gave advice on the best way to lead a happy life.

Carnival:
The Ohi Day
On October 28th, the Greeks celebrate the day when the Greek dictator Metaxas refused to let the Italians invaded the country during World War II.most Greeks put a Greek flag on their windows and balconies.
- The festival consists of two weeks of the feast, beginning from the Sunday of Meat Fare and ends with the first day of the Lent, called Clean Monday.-Everyone is costumed and parties take place in the streets, throwing colored confetti to each other.

The Greek Independence Day is celebrating the declaration of the Independence War against the Ottomans on March 25th, 1821. Apart from a national celebration.
First day of the Lent (Saracosti) during which families go for a picnic in the countryside and fly kites.
Connection to earth
The geography of Greece played a couple of major roles in helping to mold Greek society, particularly during the ancient period. Greece's steep mountains and surrounding seas forced Greeks to settle in isolated communities. Travel by land was hard, and sea voyages were hazardous. Most ancient Greeks farmed, but good land and water were scarce. They grew grapes and olives, and raised sheep, goats, pigs, and chickens.
Contributions to Architecture
Ancient Greek architects featured proportional designs decorated with sculptures. They used geometry to present the buildings as perfectly straight as possible. Their buildings are known for being straight and balanced.

Greek art emphasizes the importance of human beings accomplishments. They use pottery, sculptures and many more. They use stones, marbles, clay for the pottery. The main reason for the greek art is depict beauty and harmony.

Greek made major contributions to math and also science. One of the first astronomical models was developed by an Ancient green describing the planetary movement.
How their culture influenced their behavior
Greeks are very welcoming and friendly. When they meet someone for the first time they shake hands and maintain an eye contact. When they become good friends they may also kiss each other on the cheeks. Their traditions and beliefs influenced them into having a friendly and welcoming environment.
