“It is with a heavy heart that I take up my pen to write these the last words in which I shall ever record the singular gifts by which my friend Mr Sherlock Holmes was distinguished,” narrator Dr John Watson says in Conan Doyle’s story The Final Problem, which appeared in The Strand magazine in December 1893.
SHERLOCK HOLMES
In 1893, author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle shoved detective Sherlock Holmes off a cliff. The cliff was fictionally located in Switzerland, over the Reichenbach Falls. But Conan Doyle did the dirty work from his home in London where he wrote.
What happened?
Is it Sherlock Holmes?
One can imagine Conan Doyle, slicked-back hair shimmering in the candlelight, twirling his ample mustache with glee.
Conan Doyle himself seemed a little less emotional in private. “Killed Holmes,” he wrote in his diary.

But that streak is over now. U.S. retail sales declined last month and in October, raising questions about how retailers are faring in the all-important holiday shopping season and about the stability of the broader economy.
Sales fell 1.1 percent in November — more than economists had predicted — as spending on categories like automobiles, electronic stores, clothing and restaurants and bars Wednesday.

BLACK FRIDAY - IS IT A TRAP?
One can imagine Conan Doyle, slicked-back hair shimmering in the candlelight, twirling his ample mustache with glee. Consumer spending has been one of the few bright spots in the pandemic-battered economy.
Since the spring, Americans have spent more each month even in the face of mounting job losses, political turmoil and recurring virus outbreaks.

Was it really an accident?
The mysterious dissapereance of a famoous actor
It’s worth noting that Craig was not everyone’s first choice for Bond back in 2005.
As much as we've loved his run as 007, Daniel Craig's stint as James Bond must come to an end. Having previously stated that he would rather harm himself than return to the tux, it didn't take long for him to jump back in the Aston Martin. But No Time To Die, formerly known as Bond 25, will actually be Daniel Craig’s final film in the franchise. The man confirmed it in our April 2020 cover story, shushing recurring rumours that he is set to suit up again in the future.
“I’m OK with quitting Bond for good],” he said. “I don’t think I would have been if I’d done the last film and that had been it. But this, I’m like, ‘Let’s go. Let’s get on with it. I’m fine.’” So the question everyone is asking is, “Who’s next?”

A modern-day Einstain came up with a brilliant solution
what an algorithm!
Thorne has come up with a controversial theory where wormholes, bridges between two black holes, are used for the purpose of time travel.
Albert Einstein was born on 14 March 1879 in Germany, and is well known for coming up with his 'Theory of Relativity', that Einstein used to model the large scale structure of the universe. In 1921, Einstein won the Nobel Prize for Physics, for his investigations into the photo-electric effect. He is most well known for his formula of mass and energy equivalence, E = mc2. Many of Einstein's predictions would continued to be proved true well after his death. Here are five modern geniuses who can be considered as the Einsteins of today.
Kip Thorne is one of the leading experts in the world on the astrophysical implications of Einstein's General Theory of Relativity. Thorne is a researcher in astrophysics and gravitational physics, and is well known for his investigations into black holes, gravitational waves and relativistic stars.

Swimming is beneficial for everybody
Water is your key to better health — and we’re not talking about getting your eight glasses a day (but do that, too). Turns out, your community pool or lake can sculpt your body better than the most bougie gym or upscale Pilates studio without the price tag. We chatted with former Olympic swimmer Scott Dickens about the reasons why swimming should be the new cycling. Basically, it ticks all the boxes!
“You can swim laps, but you can also do interval training. Personally, I do a warm-up with all types of swims — butterfly, backstroke and freestyle — and use props like fins and hand paddles to increase resistance in my legs. You can also do laps using just your legs or arms to target specific muscles. The paddleboards are great for your hip flexors and lower core muscles.”

Am I safe to fly? Will vaccines be required to travel internationally?
Many airlines provide antibacterial wipes when you enter the airplane and I always wipe down everything from the seatbelt to the arm rest to the upper buttons and tray table. So, really it's just following protocols and being smart about it.

Let's make African schools great again
Poverty, lack of safe school buildings, the remoteness of schools, and discrimination in society are the obstacles to education that these children cannot bridge. This is especially true for the groups of children whose lives have been marked by great challenges – children from remote areas, children with developmental difficulties and girls of all ages.
School, a school desk, a notebook, or a teacher are still only a dream for more than 38 million children in Africa. By not being able to experience the empowerment that comes with education, they lose the chance to reach their potential, escape poverty and build a better future for themselves, their family and community.
