About Me
George Hademenos is currently in his 22nd year of teaching physics at Richardson High School in Richardson, Texas (a suburb north of Dallas). He was awarded a BS degree in Physics from Angelo State University and the MS and PhD degrees in Physics from the University of Texas at Dallas. He lives in Richardson with his wife Kelly who recently retired as a classroom teacher. They have a daughter, Alexandra, who graduated from Angelo State University with a degree in Elementary Education, and two fur babies: Atticus and Jane, rescues from the local animal shelter. George is a teacher who is always in search of novel and creative ways to expand upon instructional engagement in his classroom.
About Me
One example that has opened many possibilities and avenues for his students is global education. Most people view travel as an escape from the daily stresses of life or an excuse to use the newly purchased camera or downloaded app. George sees travel as an opportunity to engage his students by integrating real-world examples of content taught in class from a global perspective. George is beyond excited to have been chosen as a Fulbright Specialist for the University of Goroka in Papua, New Guinea and looks forward to sharing experiences, ideas and resources with his host institution and to incorporating this experience through collaborative activities with students, professors and administrative officials from his host country.
