Hogwarts Characters

As Organnells

Nucleus as Hermione Granger

  • I chose Hermione as the nucleus because she is one of the smarts and bravest witches in Hogwarts. She always at the top of her classes. Also without her Harry and Ron would've not survived their encounters.
  • The nucleus is the control center of the cell in other words the brain of the cell.
  • Contains the cells DNA
  • Inside the nucleus is another organelle called the nucleolus.
  • The nucleolus is responsible for making ribosomes.
  • The nucleus is the largest organelle in the cell.

Ribosomes-Sorting hat

  • Ribosomes are like factories because ribosomes make protein like factories make other products.
  • They assemble proteins from amino acids.
  • Ribosomes are made up of two parts, called subunits.
  • Some ribosomes are found in the cytoplasm and most of the ribosomes are attached to the endoplasmic reticulum.
  • Ribosomes make proteins that the cells need.
  • I chose the sorting hat as the ribosomes because every first-year student has to get sorted in one of four houses. Which are Gryffindor (Courage, brave, and nerve) Ravenclaw (Intelligent, Creativity, and learning) Hufflepuff (hard work, patience, and loyalty), and lastly Slytherin ( ambition, leader, and cunning. Once you get sorted that your house for the rest of your life. The sorting hat never makes a mistake.

Cell Membrane as Professor Minerva McGonagall

  • The cell membrane has a phospholipid bilayer to hold cytoplasm in.
  • The cell membrane keeps toxic substances from entering the cell.
  • It's most likely to serve as a barrier or a gatekeeper for the cell.
  • The cell membrane is the thin layer that encloses a cell's cytoplasm.
  • The cell membrane is also a gate allowing transport into a cell to let nutrients in.
  • I chose Professor McGonagall as the cell membrane because she is the headmistress of Hogwarts and the head of the Gryffindor house. Also professor of transfiguration. She takes care of students like her own kids. She's also part of the Order of the Phoenix which is part of a group to defeat the dark wizard.

Chloroplast as Lord Voldemort/ Tom Riddle

  • This is the organelle in which photosynthesis takes place.
  • Chloroplasts are found only in plant cells, not animal cells.
  • The chloroplast has one type of plastid.
  • It's also a power plant.
  • It converts light energy to chemical energy.
  • I chose Lord Voldemort as the chloroplast because he wants all the power of Hogwarts and to get rid of all the muggles and half-bloods in Hogwarts. He would also like Harry Potter's power too. He has the power of all the death eaters. He's like the power plant they only take orders from him.

Mitochondria as Great Hall

  • It's the cell’s powerhouse.
  • Produces most of our energy
  • The mitochondria packages food we eat into ATP molecules
  • Every type of cell has a different amount of mitochondria.
  • There are more mitochondria in cells to work in our leg muscle cells, heart muscle cells, and more.
  • I chose the great hall as the mitochondria because students got there to eat/get instructions from professors. The meat there in case of anything bad happens. Eat there 3 or 4 times a day to get energy for their classes and quidditch(it's a sport).

Lysosome as Ron Weasley

  • Digestion: food particles, waste, Foreign invaders
  • Lysosomes are created by the Golgi apparatus.
  • Golgi apparatus help breaks down large molecules into smaller pieces that the cell can use.
  • I chose Ronald Weasley as the lysosome because he loves eating which doesn't make sense but ya. He's somewhat smart. Likes to help the golden trio with anything he can. Always there with his friends for anything. And he's adorable.

Cell Wall as Headminister Albus Dumbledore

  • The cell wall provides protection and support for plants.
  • Unlike cell membranes, other materials can not get through the wall.
  • The cell wall is made of cellulose.
  • The cell wall is only in plant cells and not animals cells.
  • The cell wall surrounds the plasma membrane.
  • The cell wall contains three layers in many plants.
  • I chose headmaster Albus Dumbledor as the cell wall because he is like the principal of Hogwarts. He takes care of all the students in any way he can because their parents trust him. Also, he protects each professor because without their help they won't be any person to teach every student.
