In my previous job, I used to teach English to teenagers.
WHEN DO WE USE 'USED TO'?
Since it is a verb in past, its form doesn't change depending on the subject. It needs to be followed by the preposition TO and due to this the following form needs to be written in its infinitive form (present).

How certain actions were done in the past, they show change.Before Covid, I used to take the bus to go to school. I used to go swimming in the mornings. When I lived downtown, I used to go to the movies once a week at night and I used to walk to work.

WHEN DO WE USE REPORTED SPEECH?
We use it to report what people said in the past:
- The tense of the verbs changes.
- The pronouns change (if necessary).
- Sometimes we use THAT after said, but not always.
