In an INFORMAL EMAIL you write to a friend or a relative about personal news.

PLAN: Organize your ideas into paragraphs

Tips...

  • Use appropiate greetings and closing expressions
  • You don't have to include addresses or dates in an informal email
  • Use short forms (I'm) not full ones ( I am)
  • Use colloquial, chatty style and avoid formal expressions and linkers
  • Use phrasal verbs and idioms
  • Ask your reader questions or express an interest in what they are doing.
