1. This family has to keep their house very neat and clean! It's called the transparent house, and it's in Japan. The house has a lot of windows, and you can see into every room. Who has to clean the windows today? 2. Or would you like to live in a house without windows? This is the kitchen of a cave house in Egypt. The cave is clean and warm. It has a bathroom and a dining room, as well as bedrooms and a living room. 3. This family likes traveling. They can take their home with them. They live on a houseboat in England, in the United Kingdom. Their houseboat is very long, and they can grow vegetables on its roof! 4. Or how about living at the Giraffe Manor hotel? The family at the hotel has eight giraffes in their garden. The giraffes visit for breakfast every morning. Would you like to give breakfast to a giraffe?
PRESENTER: Sasha Rudd lives on a farm. What does she have to do at home? SASHA: I get up at six o'clock in the morning, and I help with the animals. We have cows, goats, and hens on our farm. I feed the hens every morning before school. I have to collect the eggs, too. This morning I found six eggs. We had them for breakfast. On the weekend, I help with the goats. I have to feed them, and I milk them, too. We make cheese with the milk. I don't have to help with the cows much, but sometimes I have to clean the cowshed after school. That isn't my favorite job! Life on a farm is hard work, but its fun. Come and stay!
In the past, some people lived in castles. Most castles had water and big walls around them. The castle walls had tall towers in them. People climbed the towers to see things far away. Inside the castle there was one very big hall. In this room, families had meals around a long wooden table and talked and listened to music. Castles had very big kitchens, and people cooked food on open fires. People ate a lot of meat and also bread, fruits, and vegetables. Castles had big gardens, and people grew their own fruits and vegetables. It was very dark at night, and there were no lights. People used candles to see in the dark.
