WHAT IS THE WIND VANE?

The wind vane is a simple instrument, as it points in the direction the wind blows. Anyone can use one!

WHAT IS WIND VANE USED FOR?

The wind vane measures wind direction. In today's technological society, the wind vane is not often used by people going about their day-to-day lives. Usually, high-tech weather systems can collect all the weather data needed, without a traditional wind vane. However, some groups in society still use a wind vane on a regular basis.

WHO INVENTED WIND VANE?

Weather vanes have been around for over 2,000 years, invented by the Greek astronomer Andronicus in 48 BC. C. to determine the wind direction. The first weather vane, also called a "weather vane," was designed to resemble the Greek god Triton, who had the head and torso of a man and the tail of a fish.
