Why i am suitable for the job

While I have limited knowledge within the industry, my experience with outside collaborations both inside and out of university has allowed me to pick up the skills of Project management and Strategic planning in order to make sure I deliver every project outcome with the best of my ability. My passion for expanding my range and ability in cutting-edge makeup and effects is what pushes me to becoming a better artist everyday. From outside collaborations, I had the privilege of meeting unique individuals which have enabled me to gain experience in working effectively under pressure, and assess emotional intelligence when reading the room. These skills were refined due to my previous experience being a Play worker for vulnerable and disabled children. This prepared me to have both patience and discipline when situations get complicated in order to arrive at a solution for everyone. For example Oh little Spark, Sandpolo My experiences with grad films have allowed me to effectively communicate with directors and allow their vision to be brought to life through me. My hard work and ambition drives me to do my job to the best of my ability.

History of BGFX

  • The company was founded by Barrie and Sarah Gower in 2010, and it is based in SouthEast London. A team comprised of a husband and wife, they offer and impressive range prosthetic makeup and makeup design for Film and Television at high standard. Their services offer photo-realistic character concept designs for the film or television industry. Displaying this range of skill establishes BGFX as one of the most sought after Effects companies to date. Among other accolades, the company has won Best Specialist Makeup Effects for TV for the series Chernobyl 2020 and were also nominated for a Bafta film award for best makeup and hairstyling for Rocketman 2020.
  • Barrie Gower the creator director career began in 1996 after graduating from London college of fashion with a HND in specialist make-up. From graduating he started his career at the BBC visual effects department working on shows including silent witness. A year later he was employed for his first major feature film Steven Spielberg’s 'Saving Private Ryan’ From then onwards Barrie has contributed to the award winning prosthetics for wolf man (2011 and the iron Lady 2012. Winning three primetime Emmy awards and Makeup and hairstylist Guild award for his work on HBOS’ Game Of Thrones.
  • Sarah Gower Co Director graduated in 2000 with a BA (Hons) in creative visualisation from Teesside University After graduation Sarah started her career in the visual effects department of Jim Hensons creature shop. Her career progressed further working with Framestore as a VFX coordinator for Disney/ Bruckheimer on the film Prince of Persia. Recently becoming the VFX Producer at Cinesite for projects such as Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit and X Men first class. Sarah is the coordinator for all projects at BGFX. Won a Primetime Emmy award and a Makeup and Hair stylist ware for her work on HBO’S Game Of Thrones.
