Welsh castle

The country was incorporated into England by the Statute of Rhuddlan of 1284 and later by the Act of Union of 1536, creating the legal entity today known as England and Wales. In the 19th century a local politics developed. In 20th century (1955) Cardiff was elected the capital and in 1999 the National Assembly for Wales was created, which deals with internal affairs.

It is one of the Celtic nations and has its own cultural identity that was formed after the withdrawal of the Romans from Great Britain. In the 13th century the Anglo-Norman conquest of Wales concluded, with the defeat of Llewelyn by Edward I and meant the beginning of centuries English occupation.

Welsh gastronomy is characterized by cooking with quality products and a lot of variety. Examples of their typical foods:

In Wales they don't have a typical drink as such, but what they consume the most is beer, whiskey and tea.

Example of typical drink:

They are a delicious recipe that appeared at the end of the 18th century. It is a kind of pancakes made of milk and is usually served with cane syrup and sugar. It is typical for all Welsh to have a full Crempog plate on their birthday.

Welsh gastronomy

It is a traditional dish that consists of a layer of minced lamb meat (a star product of Welsh cuisine) covered with mashed potatoes and optionally, a layer of cheese. It is a delicious cake.

Shepherd´s pie Crempog

Is an actress, singer, and dancer. Throughout his career, he has received multiple awards, including the Oscar for his performance in the musical film Chicago.

She is a Welsh singer, songwriter, businesswoman and active philanthropist. He started out as a local singer in Swansea, and rose to fame with his album The World Starts Tonight, reaching number one in several European countries and breaking the American charts.

He was a poet, short story writer, and playwright. With his voice he attracted hundreds of people to his poetic recitals, or to stick to the receiver when he spoke on the BBC.

Welsh symbols and mottos.

As usual, they have their shield, based on the hands by Llewelyn Grande, the well-known Welsh prince since the 13th century. Speaking of his shield, his flag is another symbol (we can see it on the cover). The daffodil is the national flower used on Saint David's Day (March 1) in Wales. The daffodil may be known as "cenhinen Bedr" (St. Peter's leek) It also has a motto "Cymru - byth" meaning "Wales forever"
