Language possess a multi-level nature. It is both individual and social. A formal system of signs and a cultural system. The interaction between individuals or groups of individuals to create communication involves aspects like social context, self-identification, beliefs, and many others. The impact of society and culture on language acquisition and language learning is necessary for human beings in order to make proper use of the actual language.

Language is a social convention that needs to be taught and learned by the individuals that belong to a community or a given context. These structures of language are shaped by society. Thus, language and culture are interwined (Kuo and Lai, 2006).

Society and culture play a major role in learning acquisition due to the fact that language is a product and a symbol of culture and its society, which makes it meaningful for the learners (Gleason, 1961).
