ANNY’S HOUSE
living room
Hi, there! My name is Anny and this is my house. It’s on Main Street opposite the park. My house is nice and comfortable. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. Downstairs there is the living room, the dining room and the kitchen. The living room is my favorite. It has the television, the home theater, my new stereo, the couch and a coffee table. Behind the house there is a big yard with some trees. In front of the house there is a pretty garden with many flowers. Coming! You are very welcome…

Let’s look at this….
THERE IS THERE ARE
Look at these examples:
•Contracted forms of there is, there are - Contractions are only possible from there is = there’s - The form there’re is not used - In negative sentences there are two ways to make the contraction “there is not”: There is not a problem There isn’t a problem There’s not a problem o We can also shorten “there are not” in two ways: There are not any fish in this river There aren’t any fish in this river There are no fish in this river

Look at these examples:
• Pay attention that in the singular form, we use a or an before the singular element • Pay attention that in the plural form it is necessary to mention the number of the elements and the word any is used to express the absence of elements
