What is Sexism?
-Sexism is based on gender, especially against women. In the society sexism is most commonly applied against women’s. -Today a lot of women, and some men, will say, “I’m not a feminist, but,” and then go on to add that they hold certain beliefs about women’s equality and traditional gender roles that actually fall into a feminist framework.

the 2 perspectives on sexism:
1- Functionalism: This theory suggests that gender inequalities exist as an efficient way to create a division of labor, or as a social system in which particular segments are clearly responsible for certain, respective acts of labor. A structural-functionalist view of gender inequality applies the division of labor to view predefined gender roles as complementary, and contributes to the stability of society as a whole. In conclusion, funtionalists view gender inequality as a postive matter in society.

2- Conflict Theory: Conflict Theorists dont believe that schools reduce gender inequality. Conflict theorists view it in a negative way. To them education systems preserve people in the lower status into obedience.
