Diana's birth

Diana as a baby

  • Her given name was Diana Frances Spencer
  • She was born on 1 July 1961 near Park House, in Sandringham
  • Her parents’ troubled marriage ended in divorce when she was a child. Along with her brother and two sisters, she remained with her father.

Childhood and education

  • Lady Diana was homeschooled till the age of 9. Then she went to a boarding school in Norfolk. From the age of 12 she attended the exclusive West Heath Girls School in Kent.
  • She worked as a kindergarten teacher at Young England School for a while.

Marriage and divorce

Diana and Charles

  • She married Charles, Prince of Wales, on 29 July 1981 at St Paul's Cathedral. On that day, Diana became the Princess of Wales.
  • They had 2 children: Prince Harry and Prince William.
  • After a troubling marriage, Diana and Charles divorced on 28 August 1996.

Charitable work

  • The princess was best known for her charity work.
  • She was president or patron of over 100 charities. She did so much to help homeless and disabled people, children and people with HIV/Aids. In 1996, she wanted to ban the production and use of landmines.

Princess Diana's death

  • Diana died on August 31, 1997. She was only 36.
  • She died in a car crash at the Place de l'Alma tunneč, in central Paris while the driver was fleeing the paparazzi
  • Some people blame the driver who was under the influence of alcohol for the car incident.

After all, Lady diana will always be remembered as the "People's princess", a giving humanitarian, incredibly funny and caring person, an amazing mother and a style icon.
