Watch out!! Typical mistakes

We use the same form for all subjects. So we cannot say: She wills be a teacher.

wills

After will, we use the infinitive without to: People will to live in Mars on day.

will to

will doing

After will, we cannot use a verb ending -s, an -ing form, a past simple form or a past participle form: I will coming tomorrow.

Uses:

We use the FUTURE SIMPLE or WILL as a neutral way of expressing the future. We use WILL to say what we know or think about the future (predictions): I think Elena will be a great doctor. We also use WILL for offers, promises and instant decisions, when we decide on something or agree to do it at the moment of speaking: The phone is ringing. I'll answer it.

Clue words and expressions

Future time expressions: tomorrow, in five years, in the year 2030, next month, next year ...Expressions of possibility: probably, I think, I'm sure ...

Examples:

People will be taller in the future. The film is in Russian. We won't understand it. It's a great book. I'm sure you'll like it. Will the train be late? Yes, it will. Where will the next Olympic Games take place? Those bags look heavy. I'll help you carry them. I promise I'll never forget you.

Thank you!
