Separating salt and pepper

Introduction
An electron is a subatomic particle with a negative charge and an electric force is the pull or push that an electric charge will experience. Electricty is the flow of electric charge and static electricity is Is the result of an imbalance between negative and positive charges in an object. There are some objects that are non-conductive material, which are called insulators. Finally, charged particles moving through an electrical conductor are considered to be electric current and you can charge an object by bubbing, with friction and by conduction.
MATERIALS
- Salt and pepper
- Piece of cloth
- Plastic spoon
PPROCEDURE
1. Mix a teaspoon each of salt and pepper thoroughly
2. Rub the spoon with the cloth for 40 seconds
3. Hold the spoon over the mixture. The pepper will jump up and stick to the spoon
CONCLUSION
As we rub the plastic spoon, we are giving it a negative charge. Something negatively charged attracts things that have a different charge, like the salt and pepper in this case. Objects can have a positive, negative, or neutral charge. Positively or negatively charged materials show static electricity. Static electricity can cause materials to attract or repel each other. Materials having unlike charges attract, while materials having like charges repel
Pepper polarizes easily. Electrons move to one end of the pepper grain and the protons move to the other end. This leaves one end of the pepper grain with a negative charge and the other end with a positive charge. Salt does not polarize that quickly and that is why pepper sticks out.
