Computer Science Certificate and Statement of Continued Eligibility (SOCE) Flexibility in Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the date by which teachers must hold the Computer Science Certificate or Statement of Continued Eligibility (SOCE) to teach computer science courses has been extended from September 1, 2022 to September 1, 2023. The Computer Science SOCE application deadline has also been extended by one year to September 1, 2023. In addition, the dates listed in the computer science tenure regulations have been extended by one year to September 1, 2023. Information about the Computer Science SOCE, including the requirements and validity period, is available online. Educators who have questions about the Computer Science SOCE can send an email to OTI at: tcert@nysed.gov.

DigCit Summit Latin America

Eugenia joined our Gmeet from a beach in Cancun, Mexico. My students are doing a variety of projects to help students engage in the virtual classroom. Some students will share health and hygiene info. with families in Honduras and Guatemala with Pure Water for the World(nonprofit international organization based in Rutland,VT.). We are still in the beginning stages of creating projects. We hope to share our work with www.purewaterfortheworld.org and the first DigCit Summit in Latin American
