Louis Armstrong is called a hero because of his dedication towards improving his musical skills and because of his positivity, he could overcome racism and poverty. Through his playing, the trumpet emerged as a solo instrument in jazz and is used widely today. He is also a hero because he inspires a lot of young people to pursue their passion. Even with a harsh life, you can accomplish and do what you love, if you work hard on it.

His father was William Armstrong, his mother was Mary Albert, he had two siblings: Beatrice and Vanessa Bell. His first wife was Daisy Parker and 5 years later they got divorced. He got remarried four times. He had one adpted son.

Louis Armstrong dropped out of school in fifth grade to start working early. He developed his skills by playing in the band At Colored Waif's Home (New Orleans Juvenile because he shot in the air with his father's gun). Armstrong described his time in brass bands and riverboats in New Orleans as "Going to the University", since it gave him, a wider experience in music writing.
