A digital laboratory assistant supports the linking of theory and practice. In addition, a digital laboratory assistant responds to the heterogeneity of the students. The heterogeneity includes not only the students' different prior knowledge but also their experiences, skills and abilities in practical laboratory work.

The students have access to the digital laboratory assistant via the university's media server (Stud.IP). The digital laboratory assistant supports the students

• in the preparation of the laboratory courses via direct links in the laboratory script.
• during the laboratory course.

Thus, the digital laboratory assistant can strengthen the students' self-responsibility.
