Scanning
- Scanning is a very high speed-reading technique and skill. Scanning skill is useful when you need some specific informations in a very short time
- Scanning can help you locate facts or detail idea/informations in a various kind of texts.
- Scanning is how you move your eyes very quickly without trying to understand every piece of information in the passage, but to only find out the key information from the existing keyword/clue.
How to scan?
- Focus and State in your mind the clue/keyword that you use to find out information you need.
- Anticipate the possible answers might be located or placed somewhere in the text by using your clues/keywords
- Move you eyes very quickly in 5 or 10 seconds over the passage/text.
- When you find the location of the information you need, read the entire sentences around it carefully.
- Remeber that, Scanning skill is a precious technique we use to help us manage our time in reading. So, please, dig into it through practices and develop your reading skill.

- First of all, learn about Scanning skill first. What is exactly Scanning on reading skill. How important it is. How to use it when we deal with short and long text or simple and complex text. You might find about this material lesson from various references. So, pick as mush as idea where ever you found them and put them into one authentic idea by using paraphrasing thechnique to avoid and minimalize a possible plagiarism.
- Illustrate your reason why you chose the answers. In this part, you are required to be more aware to many possible new information in the text. The writers might put many different words or phrases to test your vocabularies or background information. So, to avoid such complicated situation, you must know word association. For example, question might content one of the important word or information by using a word 'carry,' this might be tricky if you do not have enough vocabularies which closely related to 'to carry'. Hence, look up some words or phrase that associate with 'carry' such as 'bring, take, lead, etc' directly by moving your eyes quicky and rapidly in a second in the text. This texhnique might help you narrow your searching area and very useful for you if you do not want to waste much time when you are dealing with a longer or more complex passage.
- Finally, illustrate your method and step orders in finding the answers you need. In this part, you are getting into the most important part of this material subject, scanning. As we learn that Scanning is commonly know as the highest speed reading technique on reading skills, you should come up with the idea on how to put that into step orders comprehensively and clearly, from the first step to the very last. Additional work: Make a handwriting example of English Conversation that is commonly used at school or university circumstance/ environment (Min. 1 page) and submit them via private chat (WA/Telegram) if you finished before the due date at 23.00 p.m, next week.

- Submitted file must only be on PDF format (less than 300kb) with manual writing.
- Forum session is only for your explanation (read the description before you give comment). No need to reupload your file or answer sheet on forum session.
- The file submission and active participation deadline on Forum and Assignment session are based on the facilitator's instruction
