Lorca is born on his family's farm in Fuente Vaqueros, Granada. He is the oldest of one brother and two sister

Lorca studies Law and Philosophy at the University of Granada, but he soon leaves his legal studies for literature.

Lorca and his family move to the city of Granada when he is 11 years old

1920

1910

Lorca shows his first play called The Butterfly's Evil Spell about a cockroach who falls in love with butterfly. It isn't very popular

Lorca moves to Madrid and attends classes at the Residencia de Estudiantes.

Lorca travels to the US and spends time in New York. He studies English at university and he writes Poet in New York, a collection of poems of his experience there..

Lorca publishesGypsy Ballads, a tribute to Gypsy people and Andalusia. In the collection, he re-tells stories, songs and poems from the Spanish countryside.

Lorca publishes his first collection of poems.
