The Printing Press

Question: What were the long lasting implications of the printing press?

History: When many people consider the printing press they typically think about Johannes Guttenberg, however he did not invent the first preinting press. The printing press was originally invented by the Tang Dynasty of China and its orgins date back to the 3rd century. This invention may have looked less advanced than Guttenberg's invention in the 15th century, but nonetheless without the Tang Dynasty's role in creating the printing press, Guttenberg may have never mastered it.
