Present Simple
We go to the cinema once a month.
We use Present Simple:
- Always true (Flowers bloom in spring.)
- Pernament situations (I live in London)
- Short actions now (He kicks the ball and scores the goal!)
- Habits (I go swimming once a month)
- Future timetables (This train leaves at 6)
- Future clauses (I won't go out until it stops raining).
Present Continuous
Temporary / annoying habits (He's eating a lot these days You're always loosing your keys!).
Unfinished actions now (I'm working at the moment).
Temporary situations (I'm reading an interesting book now).
Definite future plans (I'm meeting my friends tomorrow).
Past Simple
*Finished time ( I went to the cinema to days ago). *Finished time period (Leonardo painted The Mona Lisa). *Details of news (I've hurt my leg. I fell off a ladder). *Actions in stories (He sat down and aske her a question).
Past Continuous
Past Habits She was singing all the time.
Overlapping actions (+ Past Simple) When I was taking the shower the phone rang.
Emphasis of length of action I was playing computer games all day.
Story Background The bird was singing and the sun was shining.
Present Perfect Simple
Recent events The Prime Minister has given a speech.
Life experience I've been to Paris.
Present results I've broken my leg!

Unfinished time word I haven't seen you this month.
Present Perfect Continuous
*How long (I've been living in Warsaw for five years). *Present result (I've been running !) * Temporary situations (I've been reading a lot recently).
Past Perfect Simple
Actions Finished before another past action (+Past Simple) When we arrived, the film had started.
Past Perfect Simple
How long to a point in the past (When he graduated, he had been in London for six years).
Unreal things in the past (I wish I had gone earlier).
Past Perfect Continuous
How long to a point in the past She had been working at that company for a year when she got promoted.

Future Simple
