On utilise would suivi de la base verbale pour mettre un verbe au conditionnel: I would feel excited. I woud build a shelter. I would miss my family. On utilise could suivi de la base verbale pour parler de ce que l'on pourrait faire: I could be protected. I could cook my meat.
