Why do we use them?
We use them to make references to people, animals or things that can be near or far from the person who is speaking
Which ones are they?
THIS: Singular, near to the person who is speaking
THESE: Plural, near to the person who is speaking
THAT: Singular, far from the person who is speaking
THOSE: Plural, far from the person who is speaking
They are ADJECTIVES when:
they stay before a substantive (noun)
Ex: This rabbit is white
Ex: Those cars are red
They are PRONOUNS when:
they stay before a verb
Ex: This is a white rabbit
Ex: Those are red cars
