She thinks that she is a good child she likes to impress people because of that. She obeys and respects adults. She also tries to impress her peers. “I am a good girl. It is my most defining feature” “Jessika Keller? Oh she is a superior girl upstanding, immaculate.”(1 Mayhew) She hides and hates the fact that she's jealous of her big sister. She was jealous of the fact that her sister was stronger, more athletic , smarter, and " the wonderous and flawless creation."(8 Mayhew)

The main character believes that her country is very important. This is because when her coach first askes what she loves she says"I love my country."(25 Mayhew)

A memorable sight that the main character experiences are when her skate coach shows her how to do a move. Her coach showed her what real love was through her skating. Her coach wanted her to" show me love."(24 Mayhew) The main character also fears that she loves her best friend. This is because when she was trying to show love all she thought of was her best friend. She notices when her coach said"your head has been fuzzy there must be someone."(Mayhew 26)

The main character's motivation is pride because of her passion to impress people. She likes to be know as" a good girl. It is my most defining feature”

A strength that the main character shows is her being a good person. She is shown from the beginning that she does what she is told. Even people around her say "Oh she is a superior girl upstanding, immaculate.”(1 Mayhew) On the other hand, a flaw that the character has is jealousy. She is jealous of her sister because her parents think that she is a " wonderous and flawless creation."(8 Mayhew)

The main character Jessica isn't very good at working with others. She is very independent throughout the story. This is shown when she doesn't have that many friends and she " doesn't seem to get along"(Mayhew 43)

A conflict that the main character deals with is her sexuality. When she "kissed her on the lips," she says it " felt like the most obvious thing to do."(Mayhew 19) Also when her coach asked who she liked all she thought of as her best friend clementine. She deals with this problem by admitting her true feelings as the story progresses.
