COUNTABLE NOUNS

They are things/animals/people we can count and can be singular or plural. (Si riferiscono ad oggetti/animali e persone che si possono contare). Example: 1 banana, 2 bananas, 3 tigers, 10 people.

UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS

They are things that we can't count. They have only the singular form(Si riferiscono a cose che NON si possono contare e perciò hanno solo il singolare). Example: rice (riso), bread (pane), water (acqua).

MUCH/MANY

MUCH= molto/tanto/molta/tanta/molti/tante It's used with: - uncountable nouns; - negative and interrogative clauses

Examples: You haven't got much money (Non possiedi molti soldi); How much bread is on the table? (Quanto pane si trova sul tavolo?)

MANY= molto/tanto/molta/tanta/molti/tante It's used with: - countable nouns; - negative and interrogative clauses but most in affirmative clauses.

Examples: She has got many friends (Lei possiede molti amici); There aren't many people here (Non ci sono molte persone quì). How many people do you know? (Quante persone conosci?)

LOTS OF

Lots of = molto/tanto/molta/tanta/molti/tante It's used with: - Countable and uncountable nouns; - negative/ positive and interrogative clauses.

Examples: There are lots of dogs in the house (Ci sono molti cani in casa); I haven't lots of time to spend (Non ho molto tempo da trascorrere);
