THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM PARTS
The digestive system is part of our body and it's divided into two parts: The alimentary canal, where the food passes to be expelled out of our body. It contains the: mouth, pharinx, oesophagus, stomach, small intestine and large intestine. The digestive Glands, are organs that produce digestive juice that can be extract the nutriens from food. Its contains the: salivary glands, liver and pancreas.
THE DIGESTION
In the digestion the teeth tear up food and the tongue mixes the food with saliva. It forms a bolus. The bolus travels down the pharynx and oesophagus to the stomach.
The stomach walls release gastric juices that mix with the bolus and forms a substance called chyme. The pancreas and the liver release panvreatic juice and the bile in the liver release pancreatic juice and bile in the small intestine. The mix with the chyme to form the chyle, the nutrients are absorbed by the blood capillaries around the small intestine intestine. Food that is not digested and water travel to the large intestine. Water is abrorbed and feaces are formed from the food. Feaces are expelled through the anus.
