Anthology

What is anthology?

It refers to a collection of works chosen and published in a single book, volume or medium. They can be selected according to their author, style, genre, theme or historical context.

Characteristics

Its characteristics are that it has a guiding and didactic purpose, deals with a specific topic or genre, feeds on multiple sources of information, contains editor's notes, aims to be comprehensive and exhaustive, maintains a chronological order and is edited in a format in common.

For its structuring it contains the following elements:

-Cover: The author's name, a representative illustration of his anthology and the title are placed. In their anthology they will include the name of the school and the date. -Index: It is used to indicate each segment of the content, and there they must include the title of the work, its author and the page number where it is located.

The prologue is a short text that precedes a work and that communicates some aspects related to its composition, structure, content, author, purpose or refers to a study on the content of the work.

The type of language to address the reader is direct and indirect language

-Direct language: It is to address the reader in a personal way and uses the second person grammar (You). -Indirect language: It is to address the reader in an impersonal way and uses the third person gramar (He/She).

How to write the foreword

First person: Addresses closer to the reader. You talk more about your own reading experience (I / We). Third person: The narrative is impersonal. It is used in academic cases. It is a distant text in emotions (he / they).
