William Boyce

William Boyce was a english composer. Boyce was a children of choir in the Saint´Pablo cathedral, before he study music with Maurice Greene, after his voice changed. His first musical work was in 1734. He was born the 11 september of 1711, He was died the 7 february of 1779.

  • He was a disciple of Maurice Greene and John Pepusch. He worked as a teacher at King's Music and as a composer and organist at the Royal Chapel
  • . Because of his deafness, he had to give up most of his work after 1769.
  • He developed the new orchestral form that was being created in Germany: the symphony.
  • In 1757 he was appointed Professor of King's Music by George II.
