Purim Poem

It is time to dress up and put on some make-up. I never know what to wear and neither does my friend Claire. Every year we sit and debate what we want to be on this great fete. So maybe I'll dress up as Minnie Mouse or as a lighthouse; with a bow and spotty skirt or wear a pointed hat with a glow. So maybe I'll dress up as a knife and fork or a bottle with a cork. A knife and fork covered in silver foil and a bottle with a cork so the wine won't spoil. So maybe I'll dress up as Superman or a handyman; a costume with tights and a robe, or some tools to fix your old wardrobe. So maybe I'll dress up as a queen or even a green bean. A queen with a crown or a green bean turned brown.

So maybe I'll dress up as a Bus Card or a Tel-Aviv lifeguard. Do you need a refill? Watch out your drink doesn’t spill! So maybe I'll dress up as a baker or a famous dressmaker. I'll need a white hat. Can you sew me one like that? So maybe I'll dress up as a public phone or a dog and its bone. A public phone, what's that? Maybe my friend will dress up as a Fruit Bat. So maybe I'll dress up as a falafel in pita or a graceful cheetah. We'll need some hummus and chips and a pair of fast moving hips. So maybe you'll help me decide… to be a groom or a beautiful bride. What should I wear? What do you think? Should it be red, blue or pink? Have fun on this wonderful fete; have you decided what you want to be yet?
