French culture

and my own experience

The french culture is diversified and rich. Its diffusion and influence are global. Culture has an important place in France. There is indeed a Ministry of Culture and many national institutions, like academies or national museums, which cover a huge variety of themes. France is since a long time an cultural center : its literature and its philosophers have influenced and still influence the whole world.

Art is very well developed. Whatever the time, literature, painting, sculpture, architecture, photography, music, dance, theater and cinema have a rich french history and some french artists are famous in the entire world. The Louvre museum is for example a well-known parisian museum.

The image of France in the world is that of the art of living. This country is know as the land of haute couture and fine jewelry, especially in Paris. Indeed, Paris is often considered as the capital of luxury, fashion, and haute couture.

France is also famous for its gastronomy, with dishes often of regional origin. The diversity of regional traditions makes French cuisine very varied. Products like cheese, wine, meat, etc., which are the specialties of certain regions, occupy an important place in French cuisine. Besides, the Bourgogne, my region, is famous for its viticulture and my town is famous for his moustard.

Paris is the capital of France. It's also the capital of love, art and fashion. There are many well-known places, buildings and monuments in Paris, as the Eiffel Tower. I visited Paris twince, but the first time I was three years old. The second time, it was in winter. We went to the spot with Stravinski fountains but they wasn't active because of the cold. It's still a very good memory.

I live in Dijon and I find this town really beautiful. The center is very pleasant because it's all reserved to pedestrians, there is no cars in. The center is also very lively, there is all the time a black crown in the main street. Cafés and restaurants are always very crowded. The museum des beaux arts is also famous.

Near my house, there is the alleys du Parc and the park de la Colombière. Those are also enjoyable because there are trees everywhere. It's a fresh bull in town and I can go there very often. The lake Kir is also very nice, it's always fresh and I often make the tour of the lake in bike with my mother. I find my town very green and it's comfortable to just walk in.
