COURSE FAIR Frequently asked questions

Check out some of the most common questions so you can be ready to go for the 2021-2022 school year!

HOW MANY CLASSES DO I HAVE IN MY SCHEDULE?

HOW MANY ELECTIVES DO I GET TO CHOOSE?

WHEN SHOULD MY CHILD TAKE PRE-AP COURSES?

CAN I CHANGE MY SCHEDULE AFTER I SUBMIT IT?

You will have 8 classes in your schedule! FOUR classes are core classes. Don't forget that ILAB takes up TWO periods!

Each student chooses THREE elective courses! Some electives are only a semester and some are the full year.

Taking a pre-AP class can definitely be a beneficial experience, especially if you enjoy the content, learn best in a project-based format, and are looking to take AP classes in high school.

Yes, students will have an opportunity to make schedule changes in August during Charger Round-Up.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ON-LEVEL AND PRE-AP COURSES?

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO PLAY A SPORT?

WHAT COURSES ARE OFFERED THAT COUNT FOR HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT?

Pre-AP classes have more of a focus on preparing you for future advanced classes. You'll still be studying the same major topics in a Pre-AP class that are in On-Level classes, but the way the lessons are taught and how you are assessed will be slightly different and more rigorous way. This helps prepare you for AP classes in high school.

If you choose Athletics on your course card then you must play at least one Fall sport and one Spring sport. If you do not want to play a competitive sport, you will choose PE on your course card!

We have several opportunities for students to earn high school credit at FMJH! Check out the Electives Guide HERE!
