MATTER

Matter is everything that surrounds us, that has mass and occupies a place in space. For example: water, air, living beings and planets are matter.Despite technological advances, we cannot see atoms, although we know that they are part of our environment.

What is matter?

What is matter? Matter is everything around you. Atoms and compounds are all made of very small parts of matter. Those atoms go on to build the things you see and touch every day. Matter is defined as anything that has mass and takes up space (it has volume).

SOLID STATE PROPERTY

It has a defined shape and volume. The forces that hold the particles together are very strong. A solid has a definite shape.A solid will always look the same and take up the same amount of space. Give an easy to understand example, such as an apple, a beach ball or a car.

LIQUID STATE PROPERTY

They take the shape of their container. Water, alcohol and vinegar are liquid substances. They have no definite shape or volume. The molecules are in constant motion and scattered because the forces that separate the particles dominate. A liquid will always take up the same amount of space and take the shape of its container. Give an easy to understand example, such as juice, milk or the water in a pool.

GAS STATE PROPERTY

They adopt the form of their container. Oxygen, nitrogen and helium are gases.A common gas property is that it fills the capacity of the container or space containing it. This phenomenon occurs because particles that constitute the gas have a great ability to move. Example: smoke expands rapidly, as well as water vapor.
