English traditions

Bread making-

In England it is traditional to make bread, this is because we have a festival called ‘The Harvest Festival,’ The Harvest festival is when people bring food to a table and we celebrate the food that we have while showing that we are grateful for it.

Country Dancing-

In England we have a traditional dance like most Countries do, our traditional dance is called Country dancing, Country dancing is performed by a group of people usually in couples, the music that plays is fast country music this is because it goes with the rhythm of the dance. Another dance that we have is may pole dancing, may pole dancing is usually performed by primary school children. The may pole is a pole with ribbon on, the children each take a ribbon and make patterns around the pole. May pole dancing is more common on May day, may day takes place on the 1st of May or the first Monday of May, it is a spring festival that we celebrate. The primary school children come together and have competitions to see who the best is.

Clothing-

In England we do not have any traditional clothing that we will wear on a day-to-day basis, but when traditional dancing Is taking place, the woman will wear Victorian styled dresses, and the Men could wear kilts if they choose, if not they would wear a shirt and trousers.
