LA SECTION A TRAVERS LE REGARD DES ELEVES

«I really like being in the International Section because when I left America, three years ago, I never knew that I would feel the same way, I did back then, as I do now.. For me English is HOME and for me to be able to speak English and spend time with other bilingual pupils is impressive! » Leeya, 6ème (French-American) «It’s true that we have a big workload in the Section but I’m happy because I love studying and we learn super interesting things ! But at the beginning we need good organisation. In short, it’s super cool ! It is difficult but if you like what you do, it’s amazing ! » Noémie, 6ème (French)

REGARD D’ELEVES

« For me, the International Section means a lot for my future and for my education. It is a really good opportunity. The level is high so I have to try and keep up with it ! I have more homework than in my previous school, my bags weighs a ton and I study more but I will never give up !» Alexis, 6ème (French-Filipino) « In the beginning, I didn’t want to join the International Section because none of my friends were going to be in it but then I changed my mind because I knew I would make new friends and it was also nearer to my house. Now I have friends and I feel good in the Section. I am also happy because I can speak English because I lived in the USA and I speak English. » Matias, 6ème (French-American-Peruvian)

REGARD D’ELEVES

«I feel so lucky to be in the International Section. I am happy to be here and I do not regret my choice. It helps me to improve my English, so I get better everyday and that makes me happy. The International Section is great ! » Matt, 6ème (French-American)   « I wanted to join the International Section because my first language is English. I can learn more English so it will help me in the future.Being in the Section means a lot to me because I like it here and I like speaking English fluently and this is something that I didn’t do in primary school. » Ruben, 6ème (Northern Irish)

«The International Section means so much to me! Thanks to it, I’ve learned so many new things. Sure, we do have some extra hours of work, but it’s worth it! Learning about the culture of English-speaking countries or new words is both interesting and useful for travelling to foreign countries, for example. Englsh is one of the most common languages in the world and the International Section helps us improve our level and communicate with others». Allyanna, 5ème (Turkish-Filipino) «For me, the International Section means a lot of work, and more English (9 hours per week) but it also means a lot of enjoyable moments like the Summer School, the Garden Party, the Christmas Party…All of these events are moments of happiness. The International Section means working to improve your English and speaking like native speakers. It means enjoying the extra subjects such as English Literature and History (which is hard at the beginning). As a conclusion, it means being motivated to improve your English with a lot of effort but also many joyful moments. » Alexandre, 5ème (French) «From my point of view, the International Section means a class where you speak English with other people and you have nice teachers. Throughout your years in the International Section you will progress in English with teachers who will help and encourage you. But if you want to progress, you will have to work! » Hugues, 5ème (French)

«The International Section means a lot to me! Being able to be part of this Section will open up many doors for the future. It also made me realise that I could believe in my dreams and acquire knowledge. At first, I thought that I would not be able to do this, now I am so proud of myself and this is thanks to the International Section. It is the best thing that has ever happened to me!» Chloé, 5ème (French) «For me the International Section is a class where there is a really good atmosphere. The pupils are very good and they are good fun! The International Section is like a big family whre you can make jokes and each pupil can speak freely. It’s true that you have six more hours than the other pupils on your timetable but this way you can really improve as well! When it’s Christmas, we have the Christmas Party. It’s the best moment of the year and I really love it. Each year, I look forward to the Christmas Party. So for me, the International Section is a very good class with excellent teachers; it’s interesting and it’s fun! » Gabriel, 5ème (French)

REGARD D’ELEVES

« The International Section is new for me this year but the one thing I love here is the people. I first wanted to join the Section for my future, to be able to go to a prestigious university in order to have a good job later. I didn’t know what I wanted to do but I really wanted to join the Section. The fact is that I discovered much more, not just on a study level but also on the level of class atmosphere, it’s really fun and I hope it always will be. My 6ème year was not an easy year for me but here, at this school, I immediately made really good friends. The teachers are also very nice and it gives me a deep desire to continue in the Section, even if it’s hard and even if I still don’t know what I want to do later on ! » Ella, 4ème (British-French)

REGARD D’ELEVES

« For me the International Section was a way to learn English and to open more possibilities in the future. I also made amazing friends and had a lot of fun with my class. At the beginning, it was a little hard with the work but it became easier. It also ‘forced’ me to work more and organise myself better. As a result of being in the Section, I learnt more and improved my English and the atmosphere in the class is always nice and we always help each other. I remember that before I entered the Section, I was scared that I might regret it but finally I’m happy to be in the Section even if there is a lot of work. » Lilas Mây, 4ème (French-Vitnamese)

REGARD D’ELEVES

«For me the International Section means firstly English, effort and perserverance. When I went into the Section, I really wasn’t ready for all of that. When I started I knew nobody and for three years I have had the pleasure of seeing everybody grow up, evolve and create friendships. At first, I wanted to join the Section for a new challenge and to be able to learn on a deeper level. I also wanted to do so for my family because it’s hard to be with your family and not speak the same language. I also wanted my family to be proud of me and for my choice of studies later on. For me, joining the Section was inevitable in order to grow and develop and prepare myself for university. »  Valentine, 4ème (French-Spanish)

REGARD D’ELEVES

«For me, the International Section was to help me keep and improve my English, so that I have more chances of getting a decent job. It’s also so that I can impress friends that I meet during the holidays with my English. The International Section is a sort of family : we’ve known each other since 6th Grade and we’ll probably stay together up to 12th Grade. By being in the Section, I feel like I can secure my future and I would never have known my freinds at all if I hadn’t joined. » Angèle, 4ème (French) «I feel lucky to be in this Section and the best feeling is not to progress alone but to progress with the whole class ». Hector, 4ème (French)

REGARD D’ELEVES

« I joined the Section because my sister was in it and everyone was so interested in it. I didn’t know what I was going to do, how I was going to work but I did the test and the next year I was in 6ème with all the children I had met in the Summer School. The Inter class is a very nice class where we all know each other, it creates a very good working atmosphere. I learned a lot during my years in the British Section. The 6ème year was hard and my grades were not as good as in the other classes. In 5ème I realised that I could read, listen to songs, watch movies and understand them quite well. When I began to have better grades, I couldn’t have been prouder of myself, as in the beginning I thought that I would never get better. The Section helped me to push my limits because in the other classes I never had to work a lot. The class is one of the most important things, there is no judgement, we help each other when we get stuck and this environment helps everyone to make progress. We also have closer relationships with our teachers because we know them since 6ème and it’s easier to communicate with them. I would like to continue in the Section in the Lycée and maybe study in a foreign country. » Giulia, 3ème (French)

REGARD D’ELEVES

« The International Section is a sort of trip, a four year trip. I started that journey in 2017. It allowed me to cultivate my knowledge of literature and discover books that I probably never would have read without the Section. The Section allowed me to make huge progress in English. It is also a ‘family’, a family that you will keep for at least four years. It is a place where you will improve your English a lot. You will read many books of American and British literature and you will also study History in English. When I hear ‘International Section’, I immediately think of my teachers, I also think of the Christmas and Garden Parties and all of the fun moments I had throughout the past four years. This Section gives you more that it takes. Today I am very proud of myself and my friends and for everything that we have accomplished. I say ‘my friends’ because we have been through everything together. I am grateful for this Section ». Louise, 3ème (French)

REGARD D’ELEVES

« Firstly, the International Section is, of course, a way for me to improve my level in English, to learn how to work more and better. It will help me for my future studies, travels and job. But, moreover, it has become a place, a class where I feel at ease, where I feel comfortable. My International class has become a kind of family (for eg. I am very at ease when I present in front of this class). I know everybody very well and I think that I can consider each of them a friend.   To conclude, the International Section brought me knowledge, but also great relationships and a lot of fun (Christmas parties, the trip to England…) since 6ème ! At the beginning of 6ème, I remember feeling totally lost and confused, I didn’t understand anything whereas now, English literature is part of my daily ‘routine’ ! Thanks to the International Section, I have grown to love English and I’ve made great friends !  Claude, 3ème (French)
