What is a gerund?
A gerund is a noun made from a verb by adding "-ing." The gerund form of the verb "read" is "reading.
Examples: Reading helps you learn English. Harry's favourite hobby is reading. Hedwig likes reading.
Examples: Rome dislikes playing basketball. Newt loves watching movies. Antonia tried breaking the glass window with a stone.
What is an infinitive?
An infinitive is the "to" form of the verb. The infinitive form of "learn" is "to learn.
Examples: To learn English is significant. The most important thing is to learn. Bilbo wants to learn.
Examples: Gandalf agrees to meet Sauron at the park. Gollum chose to help his mother. Thorin prepares to go with his friend to Andalucia.
