England is the largest country in the United Kingdom (UK). It is part of the UK along with Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. London is England's capital city and it's visited by millions of tourists each year. The River Thames flows through London and it's the longest river in England (346 kilometres long).
Welcome to London!!!
Let's have a walk around London...spotting the iconic symbols of british culture...
The centre of British government is in the Westminster District. The heart of this area is the Palace of Westminster, home to the Houses Of Parliament. Next to it there is the most famous bell in the world ... Big Ben!
Big Ben's iconic silhouette is instantly recognisable and it's one of the most Instagrammed landmarks on the planet. Westminster Abbey, the church where royal weddings and coronations take place is just nearby.
The Tower of London is an absolute must-see for anyone planning a visit to London. Former fortress and prison, now a museum, it’s great for youngsters who relish the horrible parts of its history as it’s packed with stories of torture, deaths, imprisonments, hauntings and murders. You’ll find everything from suits of armour to some of the most famous jewels in the world. You can learn all about it and take a free guided tour with a Beefeater, the royal guard.
Tower Bridge is one of the many bridges over the river Thames. It is a masterpiece of engineering: the bridge opens to allow boats or ships to pass.
