Final -s is added to most verbs .a) talk - talks Many verbs end in -e. Final -s is simply added. b) bake - bakes

-es + ch, sh, s, x, and z

Final -es is added to words that end in ch, sh, s, x, and z. (Final es is pronounced /ez/ and adds a syllable)

i + ES AFTER Y

If a word ends in a consonant + y, change the y to i and add es, as in fly - flies . If a word ends in a vowel + y, simply add s, as in pay - pays
