What's the weather like today?

Watch the video and then talk about the weather

What's the weather like today where you live? What's the weather like in summer where you live? And in winter? And in autumn? And in spring?

The climate of the UK

In Britain, summers are warm and winters are cold. It isn't hot very often, and it's always wet. However, not all parts of the UK have the same climate. London is usually warm and dry in the summer and cold and dry in the winter. But the north-west of England has generally cooler temperatures and more rainfall throughout the year.

The climate of the USA

The climate of the United States varies due to changes in latitude, and a range of geographic features, including mountains and deserts. For example, Alaska has an Arctic tundra climate, while Hawaii and South Florida have a tropical climate. On the west coast overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the climate is cool and damp in the northern part and Mediterranean in the southern part; on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, the climate is mild in winter and hot and muggy in summer. However, in general it has a continental climate, with cold winters (often freezing) and hot summers.
