Physical characteristics
Physical characteristics are the defining traits or features about your body. You will learn adjectives that describe the way people look.
VOCABULARY: PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
Structure
We use the following verbs when structuring sentences to describe the physical appearance:
TO BE ( am / is / are ) For build: Subject + am / is / are + adjective. i.e. I am chubby. For height: Subject + am / is / are + adjective. i.e. Luke is tall. For complexion: Subject + am / is / are + adjective. i.e. You are freckled. For hair: subject + am / is / are + brunette / blonde / redheaded / bald. i.e. Bruce is bald.
HAVE/HAS
- For complexion: Subject + have / has + adjective + skin. i.e. I have fair skin.
- For hair: Subject + have / has + adjective + hair. i.e. She has long, curly hair.
- For eyes: Subject + have / has + adjective + eyes. i.e. I have brown eyes.
