It is the tradicional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. It is celebrated in Great Britain, Ireland, Australia, New Zeland, Canada... and many other countries with a different name. PANCAKE DAY was the last opportunity to use up eggs and fats before the Lenten. PANCAKES are the best way of using up these ingredients.
