Victor Van Dort and Victoria Everglot must marry in an arranged marriage. Knowing each other, the two fall in love. During the proves of the wedding, Victor gets it all wrong. He reviewes his wedding promise during a walk in the wood and slips the ring on a wood - stick, which he then discovers to be the skeleton of a hand. A bride emerges from the ground and drags Victor into the dead's world. The bride is Emily, a young woman that fell in love with a man who, after asking her hand, kills her and runs away with her jewels. After hearing Victor's wedding promise, her husband believes it. Victor convince Emily into re-turning to the world of the living. Here he abandons her and returns to Victoria. Emily discovers them and, furiously, brings her husband back among the deads but she understand and forgives him. Meanwhile Victoria's parents decide to marry her to another man: Lord Barkis. After hearing the news, Victor give up. Meanwhile, Emily learns that their marriage it's invalid, and that Victor has to die for marriage to be such. Victor decide to die for Emily to marry her. The kingdom of the living and the dead one come together between the ceremony and Emily recognize Lord Barkis as her killer. After trying to kill Victor and Victoria, he drinks the poison destined for Victor, dies and the corpse bride go to the Paradise leaving the two newlyweds to their happiness.
