Achievements and Innovations

The Aztecs had many achievments including terraces that allowed them to grow crops on mountains and floating islands so that they could grow crops on the lake.

The Aztecs also made aqueducts and had twin pipes that both brung water from miles away and one of my favorite creations was the great temple.

  • 1487 The Great Temple is finished and is dedicated to the gods
  • 1517 The priest marks a comet in the sky marking the end
  • 1519 The spanish conqure the Aztecs
  • 1200 the Aztecs arrive in the valley
  • in 1250 they arrive in Chapultepec
  • 1325 the Aztecs find the city of Tenochtitlan and make it their capital
  • 1428 The Aztec Empire is formed with an alliance and the Aztecs defeat the Tepanecs
  • 1440-1469 Montezuma Takes control and leads to the hight of the empire
  • 1452 Tenochtitlan

Aztec Religion

The Aztecs had a polytheistic belief system. They had over 100 gods The two important ones to them were Huitzilopochtli and Tlaloc.

Aztecs gathered in a plaza to perform a ritual. Sacrifices were made for rain and good harvest.

Aztec clothing

Poor people made their own their own clothes made from cloth and nobles wore a loincloth and cape while woman wore long skirts and blouses.
