When And Where He Lived
In 1792, Forbel moved to a small town in Stadt-llm with his uncle. At the age of 15 he became an apprentice to a forester, then in 1799, he dicided to leave his apprentice and study mathematics in Jena.
Friedrich Frobel was born on April 21, 1782 in Thuringia. At the age 19 Frobel's father died, he was a pastor of a orthodox Lutheran church. Frobel's mother on the other hand died shortly after his birth due to her health declining.

Forbel laid down the foundation for modern education based on the recognition that children have unique needs and capabilites. Due to this he created the concept of the "Kindergarden" and coined the world. He also developed educational toys called "Froebal gifts".
